I am currently an in network (INN) provider with Carefirst. This means I am contracted with Carefirst and their affiliated plans (ex: BCBS). You can expect the following benefits from an INN provider, and from me if you are a Carefirst member:
I submit claims for you.
I only charge you what your insurance plan says your copay is (may vary based on your deductible and plan details).
I receive what remains of the allowed amount from the insurance company. The allowed amount is the company’s agreed upon value for what a service should be. A 60-minute mental health therapy session holds an allowed amount of about $100 with Carefirst.
I am slated to stop INN participation with Carefirst at the end of 2024.
